Chelsea Xiaoyu Li is a jewellery artist based in London. She began studying painting during her childhood and later ventured into artistic creation within the field of jewellery during her college years. Specialising in jewellery making, she graduated from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology in 2021 and completed her Master's in Jewellery & Metal at the Royal College of Art in 2023.
Her work has been featured in prominent publications and events, including ELLE Romania, Marie Claire China, London Craft Week, London Fashion Week, Romanian Jewellery Week, China Gems & Jades, Design Shanghai, Labelhood Yotopia, Blackdot Gallery, Jinjing Gallery, and the JCC Center, among others.

Chelsea Xiaoyu Li’s practice encompasses contemporary jewellery, traditional crafts, and painting, drawing deeply on her personal experiences and a foundation in traditional craftsmanship. Her primary materials include jade, metals, and mixed media, through which she emphasises the relationship between contemporary art and traditional craft. She further explores the interplay between self-identity and cultural hybridity.
The temporality of traditional craftsmanship captivates her and serves as inspiration for creating historically resonant and visually striking works. Her jewellery is not merely an exercise in ornamentation but an effort to craft extraordinary pieces that transcend time and space.
