Under their label ‘coup-de-foudre’ Jan Arickx and Goedel Vermandere design and manufacture unique light objects. Jan studied electronics and organised events, Goedel perfected her ceramics. Years of studying and workshops at teachers such as Anne Marie Laureys and Anima Roos revealed a passion for porcelain.

Since 2007, Goedel and Jan combine a fascination for art and craft with porcelain as basic raw material.
These visual artists find inspiration in nature, a continuous search of adding structure in a subtle, undefined, not demarcated way and purely in the sense of simplicity.

Porcelain is a living material that takes part of the final result during the process, coincidence has a chance to exist and reflects the beauty of natural imperfection. The search for shades of light, warmth, beauty, functionalism and sustainability manufactures in a light sculpture that participates in the architecture of its environment.
