Elisa Mattonai is a creative artist from Tuscany, and EM Elisa Mattonai Jewelry represents her new artistic identity.

Her project was revitalised at the end of 2023, coinciding with her personal evolution, which brought clarity to the professional path she wished to pursue. By choosing to invest in herself, Elisa expanded her knowledge and skills through various courses, all designed to equip her with the tools necessary to express herself fully.

Through the use of lost-wax casting, an ancient jewellery-making technique, Elisa feels she has found her true artistic dimension. Recently, she completed a stone-setting course at Le Arti Orafe Jewellery School in Florence. She is also honoured to have been selected as one of the artists featured in the 10th edition of Artistar Jewels during Milano Jewelry Week 2024.

Elisa brings her personal vision of contemporary jewellery to life with unique, entirely handmade pieces that possess a strong, distinctive character. She expresses her essence through a textural style, blending emotions into her creations.

My brand, EM Elisa Mattonai Jewelry, reflects my new artistic identity, which emerged at the end of 2023.

I define my style as textural; I love my pieces to have a strong character, and I believe that the materiality of craftsmanship can give jewellery a significant visual impact. For this reason, one of the recurring themes in my creations has been volcanic magma.

This natural element fascinates me deeply because it is powerful, incandescent, and erupts unexpectedly, breaking through the Earth's crust. I associate all of this with the emotions that inhabit us—strong, sometimes overwhelming, breaking through our human shell to flow out like rivers of words, tears, and joy.

To me, jewellery goes beyond simply adorning the body or being a fashionable accessory. It is an object that, when I look at it, moves me and touches profound chords. I see it as a form of self-expression and self-affirmation.
