Isée brooches can be considered jewellery, but when observing their development from the earliest models to the most recent ones, they can be seen more as messenger pieces through which the creator expresses herself. Each brooch is a world of its own, revealing an artistic intimacy, like a personal territory, with recurring forms and colours: «a space between my own heartbeat and that of another, attached to the thin fabric of their garment.»
Isabelle Mariana has chosen to work on this unique piece of jewellery, whose possibilities seem endless, vaguely recalling a tale from her childhood in which a bird with magical powers promised to grant wealth to its benefactor as long as she vowed never to open the door of her workshop, at the foot of which she would find an ever-changing fabric every morning.
