Her jewellery is regularly exhibited in galleries, and she has taken part in numerous notable events, including Venice Design Week, the Vancouver Earrings Show at the Craft Council of British Columbia, Pôle Bijou in Baccarat, Révélations at the Grand Palais, the Carrousel des Métiers d'Art et de la Création, and the Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art in Paris.
Jessie Bensimons' approach to jewellery is rooted in her childhood, when she would take apart and reassemble the jewellery at hand, transforming it as her imagination dictated and using it to create fantastical scenarios.
After training as a sculptor and engraver at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, as well as at the Saci and Ciabani workshops in Florence and in direct carving with John Salder in Ottawa, she returned to jewellery, working with Parisian jewellers and at the École Boulle.
For Bensimons, working with materials is an act of incarnation. Jewellery is sculpture crafted in gold, silver, bronze, gemstones, ceramics, and silk. Each piece is unique or produced in very small series, all part of the organic process of creation. Her inspiration clearly comes from observing nature and its perpetual movement. Contemplation is the starting point for a poetic journey.
