JULIA SZILAGYI
Cluster Contemporary Jewellery Exhibitor | December 2024
Julia Szilágyi, the founder and designer of Arc and Line, is celebrated for her brutalist and structural jewellery, drawing inspiration from contemporary architecture and product design. Growing up across several European countries, she was captivated by modernity and how architecture influences and attracts people.
Her journey into jewellery began at age 9 at a youth camp in 2006, where a restaurateur teacher introduced her to the craft. There, she learned to create jewellery using minimal electricity and medieval techniques, igniting her passion for the art.
From 2018 to 2021, Julia pursued a bachelor’s degree, where she honed her skills in jewellery and accessory making. This period allowed her to merge contemporary fashion with her craft and experiment with various materials. She explored the connection between architecture and jewelry, blending structural principles with wearable art.
In 2021, she advanced to a master’s program in product design, focusing on new techniques, 3D design, and rendering. Her work expanded to include larger pieces with a strong emphasis on customer needs. Julia’s style, marked by brutalist minimalism and geometric forms, balances bold structures with refined simplicity. She continues to innovate, merging traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
