LingJiun Wang is a photographer who grew up in Taiwan and is now based in London. In 2020, she moved from Taiwan to the UK to pursue her passion, photography. She completed her MA in Fashion Photography from the University for the Creative Arts in Rochester. Her work embodies daily life, youth and family, and tenderly documents the intimate moments of her friends. Before pivoting to photography, LingJiun studied animation and experimented with multiple ways of storytelling in the field of this graphic. In 2021, she finished her MA project ‘I think I’m fine’. In this series, she documents the young skaters in Rochester. She has continued this soothing style and the idea of capturing the youth in this series and transferring the conversation into images.

In the beginning, my creations started by documenting my friends and environment around me. When I was studying in the design department, I could often see my friends sleeping in the studio in various funny positions. Then, I started photography with the feeling of wanting to record interesting moments. After a period of time, my eyes gradually turned to look at every part of my daily life. For a long time, I carried my camera every day, and through this practise, I gradually realized the fun of discovering the trivial things in daily life.

My goal is to inspire viewers to enjoy observing the world around them after seeing my works. And to break free from the boredom of life.
