Iwona Tamborska has been involved in the art of jewelery since 2010. She works in a style inspired by the art of the early twentieth century, while creating a new quality. She describes her style as the "New Art Nouveau". Her work is characterized by the narrative nature of each object, its spaciousness and its inherent fairy-tale overtone. Her works are sculptures with hidden stories that come to life by being worn on the human body.

Iwona in the Studio

I cherish imperfections, subtle messages and surreal minds, that make the reality more interesting. My works often have a note of sadness hidden inside a story, which I try to tell with my jewelry creations.

A LETTER ILL NEVER SEND | 2018 SILVERSMITHING

I practice taking time to notice the little things: how petals are built, how insect wings are built, how snails move, how small grains of sand sparkle – it is like finding presents during my each walk. I think especially those smallest things are beautiful and magical. And because nothing is constant, everything is meant to pass - it is even more important to notice and appreciate as much as possible. So I try to tell those stories of beauty and magic around us, but also of sorrow and deep emotions that we struggle through every day – often unnoticed. And those emotions are also what makes people more beautiful. I don’t want my jewelry to be trivial – I want it to be a statement of a soul.
