His work tends to draw from real life experiences that he himself has gone through and often tries to feed it back into the world to create relatability, through his background of being from south London, black, young with Trinidadian heritage. Taking inspiration from some of his favourite artists such Heironymus Bosch and Kerry James Marshall, to name a few as well as the story telling of 90’s hiphop, he continues on his journey to become the most refined version of himself as the artist he sought himself out to be.

In Shaquille’s work, it is considered to be visual poetry, often the work is displayed with a poem. He draws from real life scenarios and makes each painting as relatable as possible. When asked, Shaquille refers to his process as ‘shaquillism’. Honing in on extravagant detail and surreal compositions, whilst paying homage to black british culture, all the while making it accessible to everyone from all walks of life, Shaquille continues down a unique path of exploration throughout his works.
