Yihan creates jewellery and artefacts that reflect the phenomena of life, drawing inspiration from observing modern lifestyles, particularly in the workplace. Her design aim for this project is to connect with the wearer, offering a sense of peace, relief, and comfort.

Yihan Lou is a jewellery, artefact, and body adornment maker with expertise in materials, techniques, trend forecasting, art direction, and styling. Online, she takes on the persona of a liquid gene performing in Room 404.

After completing an MA in Fashion Artefact at the London College of Fashion, she is now seeking new opportunities to expand her design career and explore fresh creative directions.

The Landing project is inspired by the idea of providing visual and physical relief to those who are tired and overworked. Drawing on scenes from offices, streets, and construction sites—places filled with hurried and uniform crowds—Yihan envisioned "dreamlands" for hardworking individuals, allowing them to rest and sleep in the same space as if enjoying a holiday. She imagines that, in their subconscious dreams, they re-integrate into natural scenery.

Yihan conducted in-depth research into the lifestyles of office workers and the ergonomics of comfortable postures while sitting. This led to designs based on the human body’s structure, innovating wearable forms for the feet and back. She chose wood as the primary material, inspired by her research into nature, to evoke a sense of connection and organic harmony.
